Spartacus Blood and Sand Cast - Batiatus

As owner of a Ludus, a school for gladiators, Batiatus (played by John Hannah) has been seeing financial hard times due to the drought in Capua.

He bought Spartacus when Spartacus survived execution in the arena by four of Solonius's gladiators, hoping to gain friendship from  Legatus Claudius Glaber who had wanted Spartacus dead, and also hoping to be able to weld the raw talent of Spartacus into excellent gladitorial skills.

His wife Lucretia is a true partner emotionally, physically and in craftiness. Despite all the events in life, busyness of the romans in orgies and sexual pleasures, they share a passionate marriage and both desire for a better social status.
