Spartacus Blood and Sand Cast - Varro

Although a Roman citizen, Varro (played by Jai Courtney) sold himself into Batiatus's ludus so he can provide for his wife and child and pay off his debts from gambling.

He is a solid fighter who is easily accepted by other gladiators and follows orders. He admires Spartacus and is the only true friend Spartacus has in Batiatus's Ludus. A cautious man though torn between his feelings for his wife (who is now pregnant with child from another man) and the fights in the arena.

Courtesy of Ilithyia's schemes, he is killed by Spartacus in a party held for Numerius, son of the magistrate.
